Cadole Sierra

Set high above our western Shiraz block, Cadole Sierra is a beautifully designed studio retreat for two, with panoramic views across the vineyard and surrounding McLaren Vale landscape.

Inspired by the warmth and simplicity of Mediterranean design, Sierra sits lightly above the vine canopy, overlooking Shiraz and old-vine Grenache. Three separate decks allow you to follow the sun and choose your view throughout the day, from a quiet morning coffee to a glass of wine as the last light moves across the vineyard.

Inside, the mood is calm, contemporary and considered. Exceptional insulation keeps the space wonderfully quiet, with a real wood fire for winter evenings and air conditioning for warmer days. Automated blockout blinds and an additional bedroom privacy blind allow you to completely retreat when you choose.

One of Sierra’s most memorable features is the rainwater-fed shower. Open the louvres and take in the vineyard view from the privacy of your bathroom, bringing a little of the landscape into the experience.

What is a Cadole?

A cadole is a small stone shelter traditionally found among vineyards in parts of France.

Built by vignerons from materials gathered from the surrounding land, these simple one-room structures offered shelter from the weather, warmth in winter and respite from the summer sun.

There was a quiet practicality and beauty to them, simple buildings created entirely for life among the vines.

Our Cadoles are a contemporary interpretation of that tradition. Thoughtfully designed, beautifully appointed and immersed in the vineyard, they retain the simplicity and connection to place of the original, with all the comfort of a modern McLaren Vale retreat.
