Start the day with a spectacular helicopter transfer from the Vineyard Retreat to Yangarra Estate, which includes 30 minutes of scenic flying over McLaren Vale vineyards and coast.

Once you arrive at Yangarra take a tour of the winery to see how they make their single vineyard wines. With no less than three 99 point scores in Halliday’s Recent Wine Companion, and an Australian Winemaker of the Year at the helm, Yangarra is at the top of its game. Finish with a private tasting of Yangarra & Hickinbotham Wines in their VIP lounge.

For lunch visit one of the most famous restaurants in McLaren Vale, Salopian Inn. Owned by acclaimed chef Karena Armstrong, this has been named in Tasting Australia’s Top 100 restaurants, and serves magnificent local produce with one of the best wine & gin lists in the country. Enjoy their 4 Course Feed Me Menu which showcases their signature dishes.

Mid-afternoon we’ll head for a private masterclass overlooking the estate at Bekkers Wine, which was recently named by Gourmet Traveller Wine as one of the top 6 wineries in the country. You’ll meet either Toby or Emmanuelle Bekkers to learn the secrets behind this prestigious label in a stunning private tasting overlooking their beautiful property.

To finish the day, we’ll drive to iconic local pub, the Victory Hotel, along a wild beach. This is a must do experience in McLaren Vale, driving down Silver Sands beach in one of our Land Rover’s to see majestic coastline and spectacular biodiversity, on route to the Victory Hotel.

The Victory Hotel is owned by character and wine aficionado Doug Govan, with one of the best wine cellars in the state. We’ll explore Doug’s wine collection, which includes Australia’s largest collection of Wendouree Wines.
