A private day exploring the wine, landscape and coastline that make McLaren Vale so distinctive.
Your Coast & Co guide will collect you from The Vineyard Retreat before heading into the Onkaparinga Gorge, right on our doorstep. Walk through an ancient landscape shaped over hundreds of millions of years, with native wildlife, dramatic geology and some of the region’s most beautiful natural scenery.
From here, the day moves into wine, beginning with a behind-the-scenes experience at Wirra Wirra. Explore the vineyards, gardens and historic ironstone cellars before a seated tasting of the winery’s flagship wines.
Lunch is at The Salopian Inn, one of our own Vineyard Retreat favourites, followed by an intimate tasting at Bekkers Wine, where Toby and Emmanuelle Bekkers have built an exceptional reputation for McLaren Vale Syrah and Grenache.
There’s time to experience the extraordinary d’Arenberg Cube before finishing the afternoon on the coast, taking in the beaches and views of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Then it’s back to The Vineyard Retreat in time to settle in for the evening.
