Private Land Rover Discovery
Private tastings
A private wine day for guests who want to explore McLaren Vale in more depth, with experiences that go well beyond a standard cellar door tasting.
Begin at Maxwell Wines with private access to the estate. Visit the geology pit to see the ancient limestone formations beneath the vineyard before travelling through the property by private golf cart to the elevated Minotaur block, home to Maxwell’s flagship Shiraz vines planted in 1972.
Then step inside the historic Maxwell Lime Cave for a private fortified wine tasting before returning to the cellar door for a seated tasting of the Maxwell range.
At Wirra Wirra, explore the signature vineyard, gardens, historic ironstone cellars and Angelus Bell tower before tasting the flagship wines over a relaxed Harry’s Platter and small plates for lunch.
The afternoon finishes at sixth-generation family winery Oliver’s Taranga, with a guided tasting of its estate-grown wines. The tasting also includes The Ihana, the collaboration wine created with our very own Valtteri Bottas.
